Anything But a Canvas

The painting I've created is inspired by A masquerade Ball and how gorgeous the masks are and how inspiring the idea of it all is. I started off with buying a base at Hobby Lobby. I then used a piece of sand paper to scratch etches into the mask so the paint would stink. Once i finished that i began to paint it a dark, navy blue. I put gold thread around the edges of the mask. I finally added small gold details on the mask. I used texture with the gold thread to make it pop out more and used a dark blue to contrast the gold.
